Anthony Bourdain: The "Fresh Air" Interview
A couple weeks ago, I heard a rebroadcast on Fresh Air of an interview with Anthony Bourdain by NPR host Dave Davies. Their conversation really brought him close—intimate, revealing and saddening—Bourdain's 2018 suicide left a huge void in the culinary world. His tv series, No Reservations, tells the stories of cultures around the globe through their culinary customs, and has no match. Driven by his out-sized personality and relentless curiosity, he had no fear and would go anywhere and eat anything.
This episode is a food junkie must. Listen here.
The interview inspired me to pick up his first book, Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly. The new edition has been updated with never-before-published material. Take a look here!
