Thinking positive thoughts for the planet—a happy choice is a local choice, and that’s the direction I’m going in. Hope you’ll come along!

In the Mar 13 Twenty Bag: Cauliflower, Red Butterhead lettuce, Rainbow carrots, Bloomsdale spinach, Watermelon radish, thyme, South Georgia citrus from Jonina Farms, broccolini.

Thank you Harleston Towles and Rooting Down Farms!

So happy to see cauliflower back in the Bag. This recipe for Creamy Cauliflower Soup is simple to put together and has a light, springtime feel to it. Plus it puts to good use the fragrant thyme Harleston sent from the farm.

A quick search of sweetgrass + grits will take you to plenty more recipes—all curated with an eye toward the weekly Twenty Bag harvest.

Harleston’s storage tips: If greens or herbs of any kind begin to wilt at any point or at pick up, put them in a big bowl of ice water for 20-30 minutes.  Almost all produce is washed and should go in the refrigerator. Remove tops from carrots upon receiving bag.  Juice tops or use for pesto.  Store watermelon radish and carrot roots in a bag in the fridge for months.  Spinach can stay in it's bag.  Cauliflower, lettuce, and broccolini should go in a plastic bag of sorts to retain moisture.  Grapefruit in the crisper.  Thyme can go in a vase of water or in the fridge.
