In the May 23 Twenty Bag: Prismatic lettuce mix, Nicola Gold and Purple Majesty new potatoes , English cucumbers, rainbow carrots, leeks, cilantro, Zephyr squash and Romanesco zucchini, cauliflower.

Thank you Harleston Towles and Rooting Down Farms!

I love tiny, young new potatoes, especially when they are of the the pretty Purple Majesty variety, which have a mildly nutty flavor. Here’s an easy recipe for roasting them with cilantro. I plan to showcase them them in a smoky lentil stew along with the Bag’s leeks.

For more ideas, a quick search of sweetgrass + grits will take you to plenty more recipes—all curated with an eye toward the weekly Twenty Bag harvest.

Harleston’s storage tips: If greens of any kind begin to wilt at any point or at pick up, put them in a big bowl of ice water for 20-30 minutes. Almost all produce is washed and should go in the refrigerator. Lettuce mix stays in it's bag. Cauliflower, carrots, cukes, leeks, and squash best in the fridge in a plastic bag of sorts.  cilantro can be tried in a vase of water if it is not wilted upon receiving.  Otherwise, put it in a bag like the rest.  New potatoes are very tender and sensitive, should be used soon.  Leave on the counter out of the light! or they will turn green.  In the fridge probably ok for a few days.
