Tender broccolini ripe for a quick sauté with good olive oil, a clove or two of minced garlic and salt + pepper.
Colorful rainbow carrots double as a snappy crudite during happy hour and later, served as sweetly charred side dish—roasted in olive oil with a showering of fresh rosemary.
Parsley has a pretty long growing season, thank goodness! A big handful of this super flavorful and healthful herb is an integral ingredient in one of my favorite pasta dishes, linguine and white clam sauce—sensational with local clams or, in a pinch, babies from a can, which I always have on hand in my pantry.
Squash and zucchini for Helen Fields’ cheesy casserole, and delicately scented leeks for my cheesy quiche—what an assortment!
